I love New Year's resolutions. They fail so splendidly and with so much apathy. Yet I also love the resolutions that are never made, all to the resounding chorus of 'I'll never keep them anyway'. What a lovely start to a new year! I needed a little entertainment after the utter blank that I presume were the holidays this year. Eat enough, fuck enough, and generally wallow enough and any amount of time will pass in a blur.
Speaking of which, Berith. I saw the most delightful movie. You didn't tell me you were interested in acting.

Isn't it tempting to leave work a little early on a nice day, or maybe to take just a little longer at lunch than you normally would? After all, people weren't meant to be all shut up in offices and warehouses, stores and kitchens and trucks and.........all that noise. All that stress. After the dark of winter and the dampness off spring, doesn't your body deserve the light and warmth of the coming summer?

Boredom drives people to work.
'Idle hands are the devil's tools.' We're all bad simply because we have nothing better to do. Give us a grand purpose and maybe we'll realize how fulfilling being good can be and we'll change. Keep everyone busy enough and they won't have time for temptation.

Sent to Lust is a vase, filled with freshly-cut flowers in all shades of red. The attached card is simply signed 'From a secret admirer', and the envelope it comes in is filled with private invitations from high-end stores and establishments (asking 'Parthena Vale' to pay them visits, where the stores will be closed to all but her and her 'invited guest'), and plenty of gift cards to spend at these places. The value of these are well into the tens of thousands, and Lust will have her pick of pleasures.

Knew I'd come back to everything in order. As dull as things are with us around, it's even more so without us, isn't it? You know, even a man who doesn't want to break a sweat over things still likes a good show. There was an excellent one down below, but up here.......
I remember why I come up here but man, sometimes it's difficult to. It's like all this clumsy flesh weighs down your souls until you're all too bloated and sluggish to think straight.

Lights that won't get taken down until long after the fact or not at all, all sorts of charming nonsense on the television tempting people to stay on the couch and let their eyes and minds glaze over, tasty, fattening, lethargy-inducing treats everywhere you go.......I don't know about you, but I'm having a good time.

I hope this is not an indication of what the others have been doing, if only because something like this requires even more effort than I'd already counted on.
Still, the days are just passing by and it gets worse and worse. I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to be a little more aggressive about this.
Surely they were never meant to be such trouble. Sins are just that and nothing more.

All those waitresses at the restaurant I went to last week are gone. Apparently they went from being bright, helpful young ladies to careless, indifferent young ladies. Strange what one night can do to a person. Or several.
